I came to the Orlando area for many of the same reasons veterans and military families still do today: strong defense and technology careers, good schools and the chance to build a life beyond the next set of orders.
My family chose Oviedo for its schools, established neighborhoods and access to Central Florida’s growing employment base. What started as a practical move became home.
Since then, I have helped veterans make their own final PCS to the Orlando area, including retirees and those who left military service before 20 years. Choosing where to put down roots is a major decision, and it deserves more than generic relocation advice.
I have lived in Central Florida for more than 25 years, including 12 years near downtown Orlando. I know East Orlando and South Seminole especially well, from Oviedo, Winter Springs and Chuluota to the established neighborhoods closer to downtown.
I understand the commutes, schools, housing styles and neighborhood differences that rarely show up in a property search. This is the part of Central Florida I know best.
